(OTCBB:ISCO)

Mission

International Stem Cell Corporation's (ISCO) goal is to be the world's leader in providing human cells to study and cure disease. ISCO will manufacture clinical and research products for the treatment of diabetes, liver disease and retinal disease. In addition ISCO will acquire, partner or joint venture with companies that will be synergistic to these endeavors.

ISCO is focused on human diseases that have already been shown in clinical tests to respond positively to "cell transplantation" . Cell transplantation is the use of functional human cells to replace cells that have been lost or damaged due to disease. Cell transplantation is an important part of a new clinical field known as "Regenerative Medicine" .

ISCO has derived therapeutic cells from human parthenogenetic stem  cells
(hpSC) using technologies that promise to solve the two most critical problems in Cell Transplantation immune rejection and a lack of sufficient cells to treat patients in need. The cells in development will not be derived from fertilized human embryos.

Immune rejection is the tendency of the body's immune system to reject transplanted organs or cells that come from different individuals. The lack of sufficient cells is due to the shortage of available human organs and tissues. ISCO's technologies have the potential to avoid the duel problems of immune rejection and a shortage of cells.
